BlogVault – Backup Now

Is There a Way to Create a Backup at an Instant?

If you ever need to create a backup of your WordPress site at a given instant, say just before making a big change, you can force a backup with BlogVault. This helps when you don’t want to wait before the next daily automatic backup is performed by BlogVault.

This feature takes a few minutes to complete, depending on the size of the data that needs backing up. It can only be used at intervals of 30 minutes, for e.g. you can’t use Backup Now twice within 15 minutes. It saves time and bandwidth by adopting an incremental approach while backing up your data.

You can force a backup, or ‘backup now’, by clicking on the little ‘sync’ icon.

This icon appears on one of three places on your BlogVault dashboard:

1. The Site Listings page, where you can choose to backup any/all of your sites at an instant

2. The header of the Site Details Page (which is where you’re taken once you click on a site from the Listings page)

3. The Backup Module, by clicking on ‘Backup Now

Or from the Backup Module, by clicking on ‘Backup Now’:

Clicking on this icon from any one of these areas will backup your site at that instant. The process will happen in the background, so you don’t need to worry about it. Once the process is complete, you will be notified via an update in the notifications area:

You will be notified when the backup completes

And that’s it! That’s all there is to creating a WordPress backup at an instant.
