Google Publisher Plugin

Google has released its first plugin for WordPress, known as the Google Publisher. The plugin is still in the beta version and the company has stated that it continues to be fine-tuned to make sure it works well on the many WordPress sites out there. The plugin is only supported on self-hosted WordPress sites and can’t be used with the blogs hosted on

The plugin mainly supports two products:

Google AdSense: AdSense helps you to maximize your revenue and grow your business by enabling you to place ads on your website. And this plugin helps you do this easily by linking your AdSense account to your WordPress site, without the need to modify a single line of HTML code.

Google WebMaster Tools: Webmaster Tools help you check your site’s check for potential issues detected by Google with a single click. It also provides you reports on how your site is faring with the users.

Getting Started

To start using the plugin, you must first install and then activate it. You will find the Google Publisher Plugin listed under Settings, where you are required to sign in with your Google account.


Verify your site with 1-Click

The plugin provides the easiest way to verify your site using WebMaster Tools. There is no need to modify any code. All you’ve got to do is click the Manage site button, and your data is ready for viewing. You can check on crawl errors, site queries, or submit a sitemap.

Placing Ads using AdSense

To use Google AdSense, you’ll need an AdSense account. If you don’t have one, the plugin will direct you to the site where you can sign-up. Once you’ve got your AdSense account, you can proceed with adding ads to your site. The plugin provides an interactive way to place ads on your templates.
